The Setup That Speaks Before You Do
Within the first three seconds of a video call, clients form an impression based entirely on what they see and hear. A blurry webcam, a cluttered background, and tinny audio communicate one thing; a sharp image, neutral background, and clear sound communicate another. Neither says anything about your actual skills, but both shape the mental frame through which clients evaluate your credibility throughout the conversation.

Camera Recommendations by Budget

Wired ethernet is more reliable than WiFi for client calls. If your router is distant, a powerline ethernet adapter (30 to 60 euros) provides stable connectivity without cable runs. Keep your meeting software updated and test audio and video five minutes before every client call — technical failures in those first three seconds are entirely avoidable.
