Running a freelance business without regular reviews is like driving without a dashboard. You may be moving, but you have no idea how fast, how far, or whether you are heading in the right direction. A quarterly business review (QBR) gives you a structured moment to assess performance, identify problems early, and plan the next 90 days with intention.

What Is a Freelance QBR?

A QBR is a 90-minute to 2-hour session you run with yourself (or with a business partner or accountant) every three months. You review your financial performance, client relationships, pipeline, and personal goals. The output is a clear action plan for the next quarter.

Running Your QBR With Arbeitly

Arbeitly's reporting dashboard gives you the financial data for your QBR in seconds: revenue by client, invoice payment rates, outstanding balances, and income trends over time. Export a PDF summary before your QBR session so you are reviewing real numbers, not estimates.

Schedule your QBR on the last working day of each quarter. Block two hours in your calendar, treat it as a non-negotiable appointment, and use these templates to stay on track. Freelancers who run regular QBRs consistently report higher rates, better client selection, and more confidence in their business decisions.
